In looking for new ways to deal with old industrial contaminated sites so that these properties are no longer a health risk or threat to neighboring residential communities. Challenge the old ways and reinvent these properties in order that these contaminated sites become a useful part of our community.
We can no longer afford to do the bare minimum anymore. It is about doing the very best that we can to make our waterfront safe, functional, and sustainable. So that it can serve many uses including protecting Staten Island's North Shore people and communities.
